The annual license fees provided for in Section 6.12.030 shall be paid for each dog, male or female, kept within the limits of the city. Said fee shall be due on or before one year from the date of purchase, or other period of time set forth by NUVAS and may be delinquent or subject to the penalties hereinafter provided if unpaid on or before one year from the date of purchase or other period of time set forth by NUVAS. Upon failure to pay the license fee provided in Section 6.12.020 on or before one year from the date of purchase or other period of time set forth by North Utah Valley Animal Services, a late fee may be added to the license fee. Dogs turning four (4) months old or a newly acquired dog must be licensed within thirty (30) days. The penalties provided for in this section shall be in addition to the penalties hereinafter provided for violation of this title. Individuals moving into the city who own, keep, or harbor a dog or dogs shall be required to license that dog or dogs within thirty (30) days after bringing said dogs into the city. Unexpired tags from another city within Utah County will be honored until the date they become expired.
