The permit holder shall comply with the specifications of the city with respect to repair of the street or road excavated and shall be responsible to call for an inspection of the work by the city building inspector when it is completed. The fact that the permit holder has obtained an excavation permit does not relieve such permit holder from the responsibility to maintain appropriate barricades, lights and other necessary equipment in order to protect the general public from harm.
