10.12.010 Prima facie speed limits.
1. When appropriate traffic control or regulatory signs giving notice of speeds are posted, the prima facie maximum speed limits designated upon such signs shall apply to the appropriate streets or portions of streets so posted.
2. In the absence of any speed limit sign designating a speed limit applicable thereto, the prima facie speed limit shall be:
a. Twenty-five (25) miles per hour in any urban district. “Urban District” means the territory contiguous to and including any street on which structures devoted to business, industry, or dwelling houses are situated at intervals of less than one hundred (100) feet for a distance of a quarter of a mile or more;
b. Forty (40) miles per hour in other locations. (Ord. 93-9, amended, 1993; Ord. 108 §, amended, 1984; Ord. 99-2, amended, 2000)
